Aerial photography took off in Québec City in the 1930s. In Québec City, this photography was mainly produced by William Bertram Edwards’ studio. After settling in Québec City, this British-born immigrant started a family and his children assimilated into the local French-speaking majority. This aerial photograph shows Battlefields Park as it appeared in 1937. The green space owes its name to the 1759 Battle of the Plains of Abraham and the 1760 Battle of Sainte-Foy. Canada’s first national historic site, this urban park was officially inaugurated in 1908.
