The Nordiques in the National Hockey League

The Quebec Nordiques were a professional hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1979 to 1995, and they played at the Colisée de Québec arena. The team’s best results were in 1982 and 1985 when they made it to the Stanley Cup semi-finals. The Nordiques were known for having a large proportion of French-speaking players. A huge rivalry existed with the Montreal Canadiens, between the teams and also among their fans. In 1995, the team was sold, renamed and moved to Denver, Colorado.
