Reinventing the past: The Médiévales de Québec festival

Although Québec City was founded well after the Middle Ages, its ramparts and some of its architectural elements are reminiscent of this period of European history. In 1993, the Médiévales festival was organized to make the most of the Old City’s natural decor during a journey in time to Bourg-sous-le-Cap, a fictitious medieval town. Artisans, horseback riders and visitors from all over the world joined Québec City residents to recreate a bygone era. Put on your chain mail and come ride through streets of Québec City with us!
