Aerial photography took off in Québec City in the 1930s. In Québec City, this photography was mainly produced by William Bertram Edwards’ studio. After settling in Québec City, this British-born immigrant started a family and his children assimilated into the local French-speaking majority. In the early 20th century, agricultural exhibitions were very popular throughout the country. These annual fairs gave farmers and manufacturers the opportunity to present the latest innovations in agricultural and livestock production in a festive atmosphere with live entertainment. In Québec City in the 1930s, the exhibition site was located at the boundary between the city’s rural and urban areas.
