The team’s best results were in 1982 and 1985 when they made it to the Stanley Cup semi-finals. The Nordiques were known for having a large proportion of French-speaking players. A huge rivalry existed with the Montreal Canadiens, between the teams and also among their fans. In 1995, the team was sold, renamed and moved to Denver, Colorado.
