A tragic attack occurred in January 2017 at the Québec City mosque, causing several deaths and injuries among members of the Muslim community. Co-founder of the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec (CCIQ), Boufeldja Benabdallah made a vibrant appeal to all Quebecers for friendship between all cultures. With Mayor Régis Labeaume, he established Québec City’s first Muslim cemetery.
