About the exhibition

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Québec City is a place steeped in over 400 years of history. Québec City is one of the oldest cities in the country. It has gone through all the major phases of its history, from precolonial times to the present day, passing through the French and British regimes.

This exhibition seeks to reconstruct the daily lives of the people who have lived here from a multitude of viewpoints, according to the various historical periods, neighborhoods and communities. The small, everyday story of Québec City's inhabitants is, in a way, the embodied expression of the country's larger history.

The exhibition features some 1,000 historical images, drawn from the archive center of Québec City and other major cultural institutions across the country. Locals, curious tourists, students and teachers, you're all invited to discover and interact with them!
